Enterprise Quality Management Provider


An Enterprise Quality Management Solutions (EQMS) provider required a migration of the company’s web-based application to a cloud-enabled environment. To do so, the VP of IT required the expertise of a cloud partner experienced in AWS architecture and best practices to redesign and re-achitect the underlying infrastructure that supports the application. The application needed to best utilize AWS services and ensure high availability, scalability, and cost efficiency for its customers.


As an industry leader in global enterprise quality management solutions, the company saw a need to migrate their application infrastructure to AWS for scalability and reliability, based on best practices that are built to scale and grow as adoption increases. The VP of IT needed assistance from a cloud partner experienced in AWS cloud migrations and implementations and a proven cloud partner who could work with them on a long-term basis on future projects, redesign and re-architect the underlying infrastructure, and provide cost optimization on the investment.


Relus Cloud Team first held a strategy and roadmap session personnel, where both teams identified a course of action and established a timeline, a detailed application architecture as well as discovery outputs, a series of AWS planning workshops, the migration of the application, and templates for reference architecture.

Relus Cloud leveraged numerous AWS services, including EC2, RDS snapshots, CloudFormation, Auto Scaling Groups, AMIs, Amazon Route53, ELB, and API Gateway. Using Amazon Route53, the application configuration from the underlying network configuration used private hosted zones. In addition, Amazon RDS was used to back and restore procedures for copying databases between stacks. The RDS snapshots can be used to created identical copies of the database.

After the design was approved, Relus built and implemented the design of the infrastructure as a complete deliverable. This reference architecture represented a “medium-sized” deployment of the application. After the design was built, Relus supported and tested the validation of the architecture and provided post-implementation support.
