Online Ticketing System Provider

Summary

Relus Cloud completed the migration of SQL databases from Rackspace to AWS on behalf of a nationwide online ticketing system and innovative promotional and marketing solutions provider. As a result of the engagement, the company experienced a reduction of overall costs and an automated and fully managed AWS environment.

Opportunity

The company needed assistance to migrate existing SQL databases from Rackspace to AWS. During this process Relus assisted the team in evaluating the use of Amazon RDS. Relus designed, implemented and configured a VPC environment in adherence to AWS Best Practices. The VPC will serve as the destination for the migration from Rackspace.

Solution

The Relus Cloud Team delivered professional cloud services to assist the company with building their AWS environment from the ground up. The services included a comprehensive application discovery, detailed migration plan, a high-level design recommendation, a complete build and deployment of the AWS infrastructure components and performance validation for the environment once it was deployed.

Relus Cloud started by performing a full infrastructure and application assessment to inform the detailed level design.  This included an assessment of the application stacks and dependencies, a review of network infrastructure and readiness and a delivery of the assessment as AWS Planning Workshop. They then worked to create the best process for implementation based on the results of the infrastructure and application assessment. Relus then delivered a detailed design of the solution and implementation process including a high-level design documentation.

After the design was approved, Relus assisted in the implementation of the approved design. This included building and implementing the AWS foundation, building a data tier, the migration of approximately ten SQL databases, configuring Amazon CloudFormation templates, backup, and DR. After the design was implemented, Relus supported the testing and validation of the architecture and provided post-implementation support.
